Jen Hudgins

Participates in 1 Session

Jen Hudgins joined the NASA Next Gen STEM team in 2019 after working to inspire teachers and students for the previous ten years with the Educator Resource Center at the Kennedy Space Center. She began her space science career early while she was still in Middle School. She had the privilege of meeting Sally Ride at a conference to inspire young girls to be astronomers and engineers. Jen decided to pursue an Elementary Education degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK, because she wanted to inspire future generations in the science fields. While teaching middle school in Tulsa, she was awarded Teacher of the Year at her school, where she also served as Science Department Chair and Team Leader. She later received her Master of Science in Geosciences from Mississippi State University. Jennifer has also been a Solar System Ambassador with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for the last thirteen years. Additionally, she was the STEM Director for the Florida Afterschool Network, helping to strengthen the science curriculum in out-of-school time for two years. Jen has received several agency awards from NASA, recognizing her work in inspiring our future in the STEM fields. She is happy to currently be on the Next Gen STEM team with Guardians of Honor and NASA and looking forward to the future!
