Amy Ely
Teaching about STEM & Space isn't just a job or career for Amy, it's her passion. She is currently the Director of STEM at Detroit Catholic Central High School in Novi, MI and living her dream. Amy's passion for all things Space drove her to attend six different NASA Socials pre-COVID, from which she used her interviews with NASA personnel and information gathered to design a course on Modern Space Exploration that was an instant hit! She is also the Director for Camp Invention-Vanguard, a high-intensity summer STEM Camp sponsored by the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the US Patent & Trademark Office. Amy also strives to share her love of all things STEM by presenting at conferences and hosting numerous professional development opportunities for educators. Amy is newly married to her husband Chris and they live in Commerce Township, MI. They have four grown daughters, a Labradoodle named Han Solo, a red-eared slider named Squirt and 19 snakes. Amy loves Daiquiri Ice from Baskin Robins and nerdy things like Transformers, Star Wars and Studio Ghibli.
