Mary Vaughn currently teaches 6th Grade Earth & Space Science in Tampa, Florida with over 30 years of teaching experience, Grades K-6. Mary has continued to inspire her students with off the Earth experiments to the International Space Station for the past eleven years, with the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP). Ms. Vaughn is the recipient of several awards including Teacher of Excellence-ISS National Lab, PRISM Award-Promoting Regional Improvement in Science & Math, and the Ray Lien Aerospace Educator Award. Mary was in the first cohort selected for the Space Center Houston SEEC Crew, along with two fellowships sponsored by Honeywell employees to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. Mary has received travel scholarships with Sally Ride Science to attend Educator Institutes Exploring Our Moon, Climate Changes, & GRAIL MoonKam Student Expo Teacher Presenter in Washington D.C. Mary is also a Solar System Ambassador for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and has presented at many district, state & national conferences.
