Bring the excitement of the International Space Station to your classroom through hands-on, VR and AR activities. Learn how to build a 3D printable ISS replica with moving parts that match the real ISS in real-time! Feel the excitement of exploring and holding the ISS in the palm of your hand through VR and AR.
In this session, the ISS Mimic and the new compact version specially designed for schools will be showcased. A walkthrough of free 3D printable resources, codes, lesson plans, and more will provide tools for teachers to implement these activities in their classrooms.
• Introduction to ISS Mimic Project (10 min)
• ISS Mimic models (walkthrough to building) and STEM careers (20 min)
• Solar array movement - coding (10 min)
• Visualizing the solar array in VR/ AR (10 min)
• Orbiting the ISS around Earth – coding and VR (10 min)
• Visualizing the ISS orbiting around Earth in VR/AR (10 min)
• ISS labeling activity using AR in Object Viewer (10 min)
• Resources related to the ISS in VR/AR (10 minutes)
• Q&A/ Closure (5 min)
