Québec's legislative landscape is in a process of change regarding environmental rules, and changes to these rules will influence the development of projects. Despite the fact that the industry is waiting for many legislative changes that are not yet in effect, two important processes have been modified in 2018: the Quebec wetland compensation system and recent changes to the provincial assessment procedure and impact review. The purpose of the presentation is to explain these changes, to identify the impacts that these changes have had on the development of energy projects, all based on practical examples.
