In addition to energy and power, centralized or distributed energy resources can provide complementary services including flexibility, balance of intermittent resources ramps up and frequency adjustment capabilities. This workshop will present the principles underlying the concept of flexibility, its use by various actors, including network managers and independent producers, with concrete examples of application of flexibility. The speakers will also talk about the infrastructure needed to harness the resources that can provide flexibility, including the aggregation of distributed resources and the strategies allowing to provide the services.
