We’ve all come across scenarios where the hero has to "do what it takes, no matter what"… even when it’s exactly the same (or worse) than what the villain has done. How does this kind of moral relativism affect a story? How can it be avoided when inappropriate? How can you portray a morally gray (or pushed past the edge) protagonist without excusing their actions?
