Megan Messinger is a writer, fight director, and medical student, not necessarily in that order. Along with Tamora Pierce, Julie Holderman, and Tim Liebe, Megan is a coauthor of TORTALL: A SPY'S GUIDE, which came out from Random House in October 2017. She has choreographed and co-choreographed about twenty shows in New York City and here in the Bay Area, mostly Shakespeare and new plays, including fights with broadswords, foils, fists, knives, and spears. She has also assistant-taught stage combat classes under Dave Maier at the Berkeley Repertory School of Theatre and St. Mary’s College of California. These days, Megan attends a medical school with a needlessly long name, the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific at Western University of Health Sciences, down in Southern California. She blogs about stage combat at notgonnahityou.wordpress.com and more or less maintains a homepage at meganmessinger.com.
