With the rapid advances in genetic engineering, are medical ethics cautionary tales needed more than ever? The thriller marketplace has always loved a good mad science story. Zombie stories successfully bridged the three genres of medical thriller, dystopian future, and revolting horror. We can hope our scientists will keep us from a zombie apocalypse, but over-the-counter genetic engineering is coming fast. Can fiction influence people to approach this ethically?
