I've lived many roles in my life starting with Foreign Service Brat (child of US diplomats) and ranging through editor, programmer, wife, writer, mother, and cook, along with too many others to mention. I called foreign countries home as a child then lived and worked in many segments of US society, both racial and economic. These experiences inform my writing as I explore the barriers between cultures, economic classes, and social standings. Ultimately, my stories are about people whether in the distant future, in alternate pasts, or pretty much anywhere in between. My stories have appeared in various science fiction and fantasy anthologies while my indie novels cover science fiction, steampunk, and romance. Like my stories, I enjoy exploring a wide variety of topics, especially when discussions veer off in unexpected directions. I am an amateur philosopher and keen observer of humanity. This makes me confident, but eager to learn both where I've gone astray and where I've never been. A closed mind is a sad waste of the little time we have to experience our complicated world.
