Chuck Serface

Chuck Serface lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in English Literature (Emphasis: Creative Writing), both from San Jose State University. Since 1988, he has been a crisis interventionist with Crisis and Suicide Prevention Lifeline (CSPL) of Santa Clara County. From 2008 to 2010, he took a leave of absence to volunteer for the Peace Corps Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) program, completing his service in Ukraine where he taught colloquial and business English for the Department of Foreign Languages for Banking Business at Ternopil National Economic University, now West Ukrainian National University. A long-term science fiction and fantasy fan, he’s published critical articles on science fiction, comics, film, and popular culture in several issues of The Drink Tank, Journey Planet, Chunga, and Lulzine.  With Christopher J. Garcia and Alissa Wales, he co-edits The Drink Tank, and as part of Team Journey Planet, he’s a six-time finalist for the Hugo Award for Best Fanzine.
