Jeremy Simons

Director of Rabbinic Services
Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life
Participates in 1 Session
Ordained in 2014, Jeremy serves as Director of Rabbinic Services at the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life (ISJL) in Jackson, Mississippi. He works with dozens of small congregations that lack full-time rabbis throughout the ISJL's 13 state region. Jeremy spends 2-3 weekends per month on the road where he leads services, conducts life cycle events, teaches Torah, and provides a rabbinic presence in communities that are often overlooked. When not on the road, Jeremy supports the region's congregations through the development of shareable online resources and by providing distance learning opportunities, specifically for b'nai mitzvah and conversion students. In his spare time Jeremy enjoys visiting coffee shops throughout the South and comparing the merits of intermediate-size rental cars.
