Jana Sharp

Jana Sharp is the Founder and Principal of Sharp Insight, LLC, an evaluation firm that supports mission-driven organizations in measuring and strengthening their impact. Jana is responsible for the vision and management of Sharp Insight, while providing each initiative with strategic and content oversight, evaluation expertise, and capacity building. Since 2002, she has had the privilege of partnering with hundreds of organizations in the nonprofit, foundation, and public sectors. Jana is well regarded by her clients for her collaborative work style, deep knowledge of evaluation theory and practice, interactive facilitation, and her personal investment to their organization’s mission. Jana is a member of the American Evaluation Association, the Washington Area Evaluators, and the Mid-Atlantic Facilitator’s Network. Jana earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her Master of Public Health from the University of Maryland. As a former middle school teacher in the New Jersey and Illinois public school systems, Jana carries with her a passion for supporting youth-serving organizations. She is a Spanish speaker and has twice served as an international public health volunteer in Venezuela through the American Jewish World Service. Starting in 2016, Jana and her colleague, Kristen Degan, have supported multiple initiatives on behalf of the CCAR, including the 2016 member support services survey and the 2017 focus group initiative on isolation and stress in the context of the rabbinic experience. Sharp Insight’s partnership with the CCAR is meaningful to Jana both professionally and personally. She grew up in a rabbinic household, attended URJ camps, and served on local and regional youth group boards. Jana and her family are active members of Temple Emanuel in Kensington, Maryland.
