The role of the Rabbi as a leader, pastoral counselor and teacher is often a complex role. This workshop will explore the ethics around the professional relationships we have with congregants. Together we will explore scenarios and delineate areas and situations where rabbis often are most vulnerable and can choose to or get drawn into behaviors that violate ethical norms. What makes these choices problematic and how can we avoid making these mistakes? Rabbi Mencher will facilitate a discussion around these challenging issues to help us cope with and explore situations that we may find ourselves facing in our professional lives.
