In this session we will examine rabbinic sources relating to remuneration, work, and gender with a view to engaging in an informed discussion relating to pay equality in the contemporary context. We will address a few salient barriers and challenges associated with both the stipulation and enforcement of equality, and the significance of equality as a value and measure of justice. Finally, we will seek to lead a constructive and respectful discussion reflecting upon the struggle for equality in the rabbinate.
