Intersectionality is the belief that various forms of oppression are all connected. As Jews we certainly know oppression. And yet in many cases (like recent Women’s Marches around the country!), supporters of Israel have been excluded from the conversation. We are faced with a difficult decision: is it better to take a seat at an uncomfortable and contradictory ‘table,’ or let those in power feel our absence? In this workshop we will learn how to understand the challenges we face in our justice work when our partners hold anti-Israel sentiments and develop strategies to respond to situations that arise from these conflicting views.
