Introduction by John Rosove

The idea of “two states for two peoples” has become the goal of many local and international agents in seeking a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, since Rabin’s assassination in November 1995, negotiations have collapsed, countless checkpoints erected, new Jewish settlements planned and developed, a segregating barrier constructed, withdrawal from Gaza, rockets and airstrikes launched, all accompanied by an incessant cycle of grassroots violence and terror. Two decades after signing the Oslo Accords, does the current leadership have a mandate to take the region forward to an era of peace and security?

This panel will discuss whether the “two-state solution” is still a viable solution.
