Talia Avnon-Benveniste

Rabbi Talia Avnon-Benveniste serves as head of the Rabbinical Seminary at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem. In her former position as the Director of International School for Peoplehood Studies at Beit-Hatefutsoth - the Museum of the Jewish People, she heads a professional team whose goal is to instill, among Jews throughout the world, an informed and active connection to the Jewish people and to lead the public discourse on Jewish Peoplehood and Identity in the 21st Century. Rabbi Talia Avnon-Benveniste led a series of programs with diverse content that support Beit-Hatfutsoth's cultural, community and educational activities in Israel and around the world, including programs for senior training in Jewish organizations. She is the central speaker of in a variety of forums and events and is an expert on behalf of the organization for major issues in the new Jewish world. Prior to her position at Beit-Hatfutsoth, she served as Head of the Education Department of Beit Daniel, the Center for Progressive Judaism in Tel Aviv, where she worked for more than nine years in cooperation with senior officials of the Ministry of Education, local authorities and world Jewish organizations to promote a national-social-Jewish agenda - liberal, among state schools and in educational, cultural and community frameworks, alongside her fellow rabbis.
