Quest Theatre is a touring theatre company for young audiences based in Calgary, Alberta. Quest’s superpower is encouraging the organic, ridiculous, and brilliant creative journeys of young people. It’s at the heart of everything we do!
Quest's theatre-making School Residency Program uses developmental drama to explore the creative process and celebrate creations of the whole school community. Passionate, professional, and mature artists follow where students lead as they springboard from found material or chosen themes to make original class performances that are woven into a school wide production by the end of the week. Curriculum ties and supporting materials can be provided on request.
In collaboration with the Perlin Foundation for Wellbeing, Quest Theatre developed a Drama Day program that uses developmental drama activities for kindergarten to grade 6 that explicitly address mental health, anxiety, relationship building, and classroom wellbeing. Helping teachers, students, and the school community tackle student anxiety, decreased relationship-building skills, and a lack of physical confidence and awareness in their bodies in relation to others.
Quest Theatre's professional productions are appropriately and responsibly created for young people with meaningful, relevant, learning outcomes in mind. Each show is supported with a professionally prepared study guide, to help young people explore who they are, discover the world around them and build the kind of world they want to live in.
