With over 16 years of experience providing trauma-focused counselling, Dr. Suzie Bisson currently works at the Calgary Catholic School District with the Intercultural Wellness Program. As part of her work, she provides counselling services to Canadian newcomers and Canadian-born English language learning students. She endeavors to strengthen schools’ capacity to support and respond to student and family mental health needs. She has published and presented at various conferences in her areas of interest, including: intercultural counselling, professional ethics, and refugees/newcomers. Dr. Bisson has been actively engaged in counsellor education by teaching several graduate courses with Yorkville University and the University of Calgary.
