Rosalind Gilchrist has over 10 years’ experience in various education settings. She started out as an Outdoor Education Instructor, which is where she developed her love of nature and experienced the profound effect it has on young people. From there she transitioned to a swimming instructor and care worker in a children’s home, while qualifying as a secondary science teacher, gaining a BSc (Hons) in Science and Education. After a few years as a science teacher she became the department’s curriculum specialist, developing new curriculum in line with government changes while acquiring a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies. After moving here from England she has now settled at the Calgary Zoo, working for the past 4 years coordinating all the school programs on offer and relishing the opportunity to share her passion for nature with students and teachers alike, while working on her Graduate Diploma in Environmental Education and Communication.
