Your students are competitive. They want to win. They want to be the star athlete. Accidental or intentional contact with the head may lead to a concussion. Your emerging athlete will not want to pull themselves out of the game. They would rather suffer through and misrepresent their discomfort. How can you know whether your student should remain on the sidelines or be put in the game? Do you know concussion symptoms? What are ways that concussions are treated? How does post-concussion syndrome affect the students ability to learn in the classroom? What treatments are available to help the student successfully get back into the classroom?
