There is so much math embedded in games that use dice. Learn and Play new math games (and a few old favourites) that use two or more dice as manipulatives. Participants will come away with games and strategies they can immediately use in their upper elementary math classes. They will also learn ways to easily differentiate each game and how to follow up the games with "thought provoker" questions that students can respond to in their math journals. Games correlate with Alberta Education mathematics curriculum and methods demonstrated are consistent with best practices in teaching. Curriculum content focus includes: Place Value, Multi-Operations (including Order of Operations), Fraction Equivalency, and more. Student work and journal samples will be shared along with a handout with games.
