Why do animals have unique mating behaviours – and what part do those behaviours play in ensuring biological diversity? As we explore the nature of reproduction we’ll have some fun learning about the mating behaviours of some of our resident animals, and finding out how animals in the wild preserve biodiversity in their species. We’ll learn about the Species Survival Plan and the science behind captive breeding programs, all while taking a leisurely walk through the Calgary Zoo’s Canadian Wilds and looking at animal artifacts to support the learning. This program will be outdoors, dress accordingly.
