Type 1 diabetes is a common condition in childhood. Not only can it be life threatening, but it can also have a major impact on performance in school. Come learn more about how this condition might impact your students' lives, as well as what you can do to in an emergency.

Objectives:

1) Discover what type 1 diabetes is, it's epidemiology, and how it can affect students.

2) Learn how to minimize barriers in the classroom for children with type 1 diabetes.

3) Learn some of the basic principals of emergency management for type 1 diabetes.

4) Find out more about what it would look like to have a provincial standard of care in schools for children with type 1 diabetes.
