What classroom movement breaks are best to help students be more ready to learn? In an attempt to answer this question this session unpacks current neuroscience research into digestible practical nuggets. The compelling neuroscience research is married with extensive physical therapy classroom experience to bridge the gap between research and practical classroom applications. Strategies will be discussed related to ‘ramping up’ your existing classroom movement break activities. Additional considerations, resources, and BrainBlasts will be discussed and modeled. Key success factors and specific inclusion considerations will add value to any classroom movement break practices. Additionally, explicit links to the Alberta Learning health and wellness program will be reviewed. Physical literacy concepts will be embedded throughout the presentation. This session will be engaging, interactive, and physically active.
