This high octane fuelled multi media super session will focus on implementation of popular feature films, shorter length film clips, thought provoking documentaries, and other visual forms (ex: music and lyric based videos, advertisements, photographs) in combination with a variety of traditional fictional forms and non fictional text. Audience members will come away from this session with multiple ready to run lessons and a variety of selections that can be immediately put to use in new or pre-existing units within ELA, Humanities, and/or Social Studies. Hook students into a wealth of meaningful visual text and have them discover unlimited literary and non literary intertextuality as a result. User friendly handouts and a wealth of student exemplars will be provided to support information provided.
