Who knew so much math is embedded in number lines? You will after you attend this session. Learn math games and activities that use number lines as a manipulative. Number lines are extremely visual, easy to understand and easily manipulated by students of all ages especially those in grades 4 through 6. Learn ways to easily differentiate each game and how to follow up the games with "thought provoker" questions that students respond to in their math journals. Games correlate with Alberta Education mathematics curriculum and methods demonstrated are consistent with best practice. Content focus includes: Place Value (including Rounding), Fraction and Decimal equivalency, Proportional Reasoning and Mental Math Fact fluency.
