"Innovation is a process that progresses from “why would we ever do that?” and ends when people say “why would we do this any other way?” in the middle of that process comes the question “that’s a neat idea, but how do I do it.”

In 2016 we opened Nelson Mandela School, an 1800 student high school in NE Calgary. Founded on the principles of High School Redesign we embraced both Competency and Outcome based assessment.

This session will walk through the on-the-ground strategies, rubrics and methods that were used in the first iteration of Mandela’s way of implementing this method of assessment in CTS. 

All rubrics and methods are released under a Creative Commons licence and so will be shared with all participants to be used, modified, and improved."
