Understanding the language of Visual Art.

Professional artist and teacher Michael Downs will outline the foundational skills and habits to learning visual art or learning how to see. A simple idea but yet it is probably the most difficult process to learn for students coming into art. Like learning a new language, learning to see requires a different way of thinking, of how to analyze and process information. As more emphasis is placed on arts integrated learning Michael will share from his long study of art the keys to understanding visual art as skilled based form of communication.
