Marjan Patterson has 24yrs of inclusive teaching in B.C. and Alberta as a music specialist, gifted educator and elementary generalist. She currently teaches grade two for the Calgary Board of Education. Ms. Patterson recently graduated from the University of South Florida with a MA in Exceptional Student Education and was awarded the Portfolio of Distinction and Laurie Ann Richardson Scholarship. She mentors new teachers and colleagues to support and provide positive strategies, enhancing the learning experience of exceptional students to increase engagement, demonstrating desirable student performance in inclusive classrooms.
A particular area of interest for Ms. Patterson is improving educational and post-school outcomes for students with disabilities through collaboration between schools, the students and their families, community agencies, organizations, and the private sector.
