Jackie Seidel is an Associate Professor of Curriculum and Learning in the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary. She formerly taught grades 2-9 in the Calgary Board of Education. She teaches, writes and studies in the areas of ecological ways of being, relating and thinking, ecopsychology, climate change, and children’s literature. She is interested in the ways schools and classrooms can be both life-serving and life-creating. Her most recent book is a co-edited (with David Jardine) collection of writing by teachers: The Ecological Heart of Teaching: Radical Tales of Refuge and Renewal for Classrooms and Communities (Peter Lang, 2016). Jackie is passionate about beekeeping, poetry, philosophy and biking.
