Apiaries and Bees for Communities (ABC Bees)
Participates in 1 Session
Eliese Watson is an internationally celebrated keynote speaker on pollinator conservation and management. Starting ABC Bees in 2010 with a passioned focus to support public education on native bees and honey bee conservation, Eliese has expanded her commercial educational apiary while also developing innovative and creative beekeeping educational programs for both teachers and classrooms, but also for post-secondary education in the skills of commercial and hobby beekeeping practices. In 2018, Eliese Watson partnered with Theresa Romansky to write and publish Bee Inspired: Teaching Resource. This book is dedicated to supporting elementary and middle school educators in their understanding of bees in application to curriculum requirements. With thought provoking concepts and facts about bees, the book covers bee behaviours, life-cycles, as well as habitat and conservation. Bee Inspired guides the educator in to a better understanding of not only the creative and scientific topic of bees, but also its applications in the classroom.
