Daniel Bennett aka Transit22 is an Independent Music Award winner, a Calgary poet laureate finalist, a winner of a Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award and the founder of “It’s Lit - Hip-Hop Literary Device Workshops for Schools.” His music has received over 2,500,000 streams and has garnered a substantial amount of national broadcast media coverage and airplay. His passion for youth-work led him to complete a Behavioural Science degree while also balancing a budding music career. Daniel then became the Child & Youth Music Program Facilitator at The Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary, where he worked with a wide array of youth for 8 years. Now, Daniel is taking beats into the classroom and teaching students the English language through the means of hip-hop music! Recently, Daniel completed a full song and music video with Valley Creek Middle School’s Grade 4 class on the importance of recycling.
