Astrid Kendrick has been a classroom teacher for the Calgary Board of Education for the past seventeen years and has been an instructor at the University of Calgary for the past four years. She completed her Doctor of Education in 2018 and is a passionate advocate for teacher and student wellbeing. For the past two years, she has been the editor of the Runner, a publication of HPEC and the co-chair for the Health Promoting Schools Collaborative with Alberta Health Services. She recently received an Emerging Scholar Award from The Learner conference in Belfast, Ireland.
