Dr. Sheryl MacMath teaches courses in planning, assessment, classroom management, math methods, and social studies methods in the University of the Fraser Valley’s (UFV) Teacher Education Department. She is involved with the mentoring of teacher candidates during their practica, as well as leading professional development workshops for practicing teachers ensuring strong connections with school districts. Before coming to UFV, Sheryl worked as an elementary school teacher in school districts #48 and #53, as well as a sessional lecturer for the University of Victoria. Sheryl’s scholarship interests include curriculum integration, planning through assessment, effective rubric development, developing conceptual understanding in mathematics, critical thinking in social studies, Indigenizing curriculum and classrooms, and curriculum mapping in teacher education.
