Elizabeth Romo-Rabago is a biologist and social entrepreneur. She holds a Master of Science. Degree in Sustainable Energy Development from the University of Calgary. Elizabeth is co-founder of Ciclomanías, a social enterprise, and is a member of the Nature’s Ride Board of Directors, a non-profit organization. Through the two organizations Elizabeth delivers environmental education workshops to elementary, junior and high schools. Both organizations, which operate in Canada and Mexico, provide environmental curriculum resources for the classroom enabling sensory and cognitive development to create environmentally literate and socially responsible citizens. Elizabeth is also co-author and editor of an illustrated, bilingual children’s book titled Lotli. The book includes a legend about the monarch butterfly, its biology, conservation initiatives and key vocabulary in English and in Spanish. In 2014, Elizabeth received the University of Calgary Sustainability ON Award and the President’s Award for excellence in student leadership for advancing the University’s sustainability commitment.
