Tijana Selak

Calgary Zoo
Participates in 3 items
Tijana carries a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Calgary, where she completed an independent research project on the effects of urbanization on synanthropic species, like the little brown bat. She has a passion for animal welfare, and has cared for a variety of creatures at wildlife centres in California, South Africa, and Calgary. When she’s not handling animals, she’s striving to educate others about them, and spread a love and reverence for the creatures we share the earth with. Tijana is an experienced informal educator, having delivered a wide variety of conservation-focused programs through both the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society and the Calgary Zoo, where she has been an interpreter for 3 years. She is a member of the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists, a Certified Interpretive Guide with the National Association for Interpreters, and a Certified Educator with National Geographic.
