Kerry Green is Tsimshian from the Lax Kwa’laams First Nation in the beautiful northwest coast of British Columbia. Kerry received both her Bachelor of Arts degree in German, and Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary. Kerry is currently working on her Master's Degree in Education, focusing on Indigenous Education and Educarional Leadership. Kerry has spent the last 15 years as an educator with the Calgary Board of Education and helped open Niitsitapi Learning Centre in September 2016 before moving into a system role with Indigenous Education in January 2017. Kerry continues her work as an Indigenous educator at Connaught Elementary. Kerry is a strong advocate for the purposeful inclusion of Indigenous pedagogies in her work, and her belief in the gifts and talents of all Indigenous learners. Kerry believes that through meaningful collaboration and reciprocal learning, we will be able to walk together toward hearing and understanding hard truths and work toward our collective reconciliation.
