Giovanna Longhi

Giovanna is Vice Principal in Calgary. As an educator, she has worked on the Alberta Curriculum Review initiative and has been a member of local and regional Social Studies and French Immersion professional learning committees and specialist councils. Giovanna supports the work of organizations that assist with the integration of new Canadians. She has collaborated on a locally developed high school Indigenous Studies course and has completed studies on Indigenous education through the University of British Columbia. Giovanna sat on the Teachers Advisory Committee of the Teacher’s Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy and is an alumnus of the Harvard Project Zero Institute. Giovanna has been honoured as a semi-finalist for Alberta Excellence in Teaching Awards and received the Class Act award from TC². Giovanna facilitates sessions in English and French, supporting concept-based pedagogy, embedding critical thinking strategies in classroom activities and developing collaborative and engaging learning opportunities for students and teachers.
