Students of all ages can challenge educators with their behaviour - outbursts, disruptions, defiance, refusals, etc. The same responses and practices that work with the majority of 'typical' students generally do not have the desired effect with our more challenging individuals. In this session, we explore why we must change our approach with these students and look at some strategies that result in being fair, but not necessarily equal in how we deal with the children and teens in our care.
