Have you ever dreaded buddy time, trying to think up activities to fill the time? Does buddy time often look like big kids reading to little kids or playing outside? Do you long for purpose and curricular connections for your buddy time? We are grade 8 and Kindergarten teachers who have found ways to make buddy time meaningful learning time for both big kids and little kids. In this session, we’ll discuss possible ways to design learning experiences for multi-age groups that are connected to both curriculums and meaningful for both the big buddy and the little buddy. You’ll have an opportunity to hear about work we’ve designed for our buddy time, as well as brainstorm possibilities in your own setting.
