ScienceCurriculum and PedagogySocial Studies
Half Day Workshop
12:30 PM, Thursday 13 Feb 2020 (2 hours 45 minutes)
Location : St. Mary's High School - N212

There are many ways to approach climate literacy education depending on the grade level, course and instructional method. Understanding how the topic of climate is represented across curricula and the complex interconnections attributed to climate systems can create robust teaching and learning opportunities. This session will equip teachers with the tools and strategies to bring climate systems thinking to life for students. We will explore climate systems basics; investigate multiple lines of evidence that show the Earth is warming; consider climate impacts through the eyes of your students; and discuss strategies to mobilise student learning about the most important issue facing global society today.
