Students are part of two groups, representing contending loyalties, and will have to work their way through five scenarios from Canadian history. These scenarios cover outcomes related to Canadian national identity in the social studies 20 curriculum, and are intended to highlight issues in Canadian nationalism. Students gather in Canadian Assemblies, representing the whole of Canada, in which they need to make decisions each scenario.

During this half-day workshop we will review all aspects of the simulation and run through a scenario. Participants will be provided a copy of the simulation documents and accompanying slide decks. This scenario is written for social studies 20-1 but is adaptable for a 20-2 classroom.
