Looking for new ways to engage your students with textiles? Want a new "made for you" unit to introduce in your classroom? Come participate with me to experience quilting at a whole new level. I will walk you through the entire process of creating a quilt.

What you can expect in this class:
You will learn how to read a quilting pattern.
You will learn how to cut out a quilt.
You will learn how to sew the quilt top together.
You will learn how to baste a quilt.
You will learn how to free motion quilt this quilt.
You will learn how to square up the quilt.
You will learn how to make and apply a binding.
You will learn how to make and apply a label.

You will have lists of supplies.
You will receive hand-outs that can be used for your students.

I have not taught in Alberta for 13 years and I see that the curriculum has really changed. I will have some curriculum links for you. This program will be appropriate for junior and senior high students.

This is will be a hands-on class for 2 days so come prepared to do the work. I will have limited supplies available but it would be really helpful to have your own materials.
