The classroom environment is a micro society where children learn about themselves and others. It includes children and teens who are unique and face unique challenges, however many of the issues they face are similar. What if they knew that they are not struggling alone? Grieving children and teens often feel alone, different, disconnected, and unable to focus. They struggle to join in and often worry about their family members. Providing support that acknowledges that everyone has ups and downs is normalizing, comforting, and it strengthens bonds between members of a community.

In this session, participants will be invited to create their compassionate classroom in consideration of the challenges and needs of grieving children and teens.
