Hands on workshop in two areas of art curriculum - printmaking and sculpture. You will see exemplars and potential of what is possible for students to produce in several types of printmaking and working with low tech intaglio and relief printmaking. Also, hands on experience with low tech sculpture in carving soapstone – offering insights into hand-ability and pedagogical potential. Considerations offered on how to teach these on a shoestring budget. This is one-day workshop of demonstration, hands on making, learning material qualities, possibility, and pedagogy to invigorate students to create from their own imagination. It will include practical range of traditional and alternative art-making materials and pointers to run a zero-budget art classroom, in sculpture, printmaking and multimedia. Technique and hands-on experience with soapstone carving, printmaking.
