Spend the day in Kananaskis Country tromping about on snowshoes with the Formal Education Coordinator with Alberta Parks. We'll discuss how to infuse environmental inquiry into your classroom throughout the winter months. In particular, we’ll focus on the ‘science’ of snow and ways to deepen winter ecology programs and concepts. We'll sink our teeth into how to provoke learning in a snowy landscape, play around with some knowledge building ideas, and create ways to celebrate, act, or connect your student's questions with protected landscapes. Come prepared to be outdoors, in a magical winter world, for the entire day. We'll also focus on creating a great outdoor wellness day, just for you, in the Rocky Mountains.

Dress for the weather – lots of layers, snowpants (or shells) and winter boots are essential.

Meet bus at Winsport parking lot in front of DayLodge, see map.

Bus Departs at 8:30 am, return by 3:30 pm.

If you are driving meet at the Sawmill Trailhead approximately 9:45 am.
