2-Hour Intro to Weaving Workshop

Half Day Workshop
9:00 AM, Friday 14 Feb 2020 (2 hours 45 minutes)
Location : St. Mary's High School - C106

Have you ever wanted to learn how to weave, but didn’t know where to begin? Then this workshop is for you!

In this 2-hour session you will be guided through the basics of setting up and creating your own weaving. By the end of this workshop you will have the skills to create your own weavings and bring it into the classroom as a hands-on-activity for your students. As your instructor, I will guide you in making a small cardboard loom and setting up the yarn in order to weave a piece of your own creation. Additional information will be given on different weaving techniques, ways of finishing your woven piece, and strategies for using this modality with your students. If you are looking for a creative and hands-on-activity to bring into your classroom, then this workshop is for you. This workshop is open to everyone, no previous weaving experience necessary. All materials and handouts will be provided for.
