National Music Centre

Booth 617
National Music Centre is thrilled to participate as an exhibitor at Calgary City Teachers' Convention and to share all the details about our 2023 field trip offerings!
Our programs are based on Alberta's K-12 curriculum and programs of study. Featuring items from NMCs rare and unique collection, programs are led by talented musician educators who will make concepts come to life.
Our education programs are hands-on, minds-on, and ears-on, and embody four principles:
Intentional: We provide authentic learning experiences that connect learners to subject matter experts. Our curriculum-based programs encourage self-directed exploration and use the arts as an entry point to explore subjects.
Exploratory: Our programs encourage process, creativity and curiosity. We want learners to leave with more questions than when they arrived. Using inquiry-based learning techniques, students direct their learning through observations, questions, and exploration.
Expressive: NMCs education programs employ storytelling, multi-sensory approaches, performances, and kinesthetic learning to invite students to engage with our collection, exhibitions and team in a way that is meaningful and personal.
Encouraging: Building connections to each other and our community through dialogue is a natural outcome of our programs. NMC promotes life-long learning and fosters the sharing of multiple perspectives, new ideas, and personal experiences. We prioritize inclusivity and accessibility.
Visit our booth and discover the ways in which NMCs education programs can complement your in-classroom teaching!
